The group splits into two teams: one to retrieve ingredients from the room and another to rent necessary items from the hotel’s lending service.

Naruse-san and Ryou-san are tasked to go get supplies, while Haruka, Hiiragi-san, and I went to the front desk to ask where we could borrow the equipment.

Afterward, we borrow the needed items and make three round trips to carry everything.

Then, we begin preparations.

First, we set up a tarp tent for shade.

We stretch fabric over a frame in a square pyramid shape and extend its four legs.

Then we secured it with the stakes called pegs so it wouldn’t get blown away, and it was complete.

“Yosh! The tent is done. Now…”

We unfold a folding table and expand chairs.

“It’s done! …Man, it’s really hot though.”

Haruka says this contentedly while taking a break in the shade of the tent. Hiiragi-san also enters the tent’s shadow to escape the heat.

“Good job. It looks great.”

I say this while wiping sweat off my face. The sea breeze feels pleasant and slightly cool.

“That’s right. Well, let’s take a short break before continuing.”

After resting for about five minutes, I think it’s time to resume,

“So, next up is preparing the barbecue grill!”

I say this to the two of them.

“Yosh, let’s do it!”

“Yes!”

The three of us consult the manual and start setting up the grill. We place it on a stable spot on the beach, arrange charcoal, light it with a fire starter, and wait for it to ignite while fanning it with a fan.

“Oh, the fire looks good now.”

I say this, and Haruka and Hiiragi-san smile and nod in agreement. Just then, Naruse-san and Ryou-san return with supplies.

“Sorry for the wait! I brought the ingredients and drinks!”

They bring three coolers on a cart.

“Thank you.”

“It’s nothing. You did great with the tent and grill. Impressive!”

Ryou-san says this admiringly.

We receive the supplies and spread them out on the table. Fresh vegetables, meat, and seafood are lined up one after another, gradually completing our luxurious barbecue preparations.

We prepare paper plates, paper cups, chopsticks, and barbecue sauce, making everything ready. All that’s left is to cook the meat!!

“So, let’s all grill and eat together.”

Ryou-san says this, and everyone agrees with smiles.

“Of course, start with the meat!” she says, and Ryou-san begins grilling the meat first.

The grilled meat sizzles on the grill, emitting a delicious aroma that stirs our appetites and makes us drool.

“Do yo think it’s ready now?”

“Yeah, since there’s no raw part left, it’s ready to eat.”

Everyone takes portions of the meat and eats it. The juicy meat spreads in our mouths, and everyone shows satisfied expressions.

“Umm, delicious!”

“It’s tasty.”

“Tastes good!”

“Yeah, it’s delicious!”

Each person exclaims in amazement while savoring the meat.

“This delicious meat tastes even better when eaten by the seaside!”

Haruka says this happily, and everyone nods while taking more food into their mouths one after another. The freshly grilled meat, vegetables, and seafood are continuously cooked, filling everyone’s stomachs.

“This is tasty!”

Saying that, Haruka brings some meat to her mouth.

“Which one?”

“This one.”

She adds more of the same meat for us. Looking at the package, it says “beef shoulder roast.” I also bring this meat to my mouth and savor it carefully. The fat is just right, and umami spreads with every bite.

“Yeah, it’s delicious!”

“Next, let’s try grilling vegetables too. They might be refreshing.”

Naruse-san suggests this.

“Agreed! Then, let’s grill bell peppers, corn, and carrots.”

Saying that, Ryou-san starts placing them on the grill.

The vegetables cook quickly, and everyone shares them. The sweetness of the vegetables stands out, spreading a different kind of deliciousness in our mouths.

“Yeah, vegetables are tasty too. It’s good to eat them balanced with meat.”

Hiiragi-san smiles.

Then, we take seafood from the cooler and place it on the grill.

“Next, let’s try grilling these shrimp.”

Naruse-san also places a large shrimp on the grill. The shells of the shrimp make crackling sounds, and a sweet aroma spreads around.

“This shrimp will definitely be delicious too.”

Ryou-san looks at the shrimp excitedly. After taking portions of the grilled shrimp, we all taste it one bite at a time, moved by its sweetness and chewy texture.

“Yeah, it’s delicious! The sweetness of the shrimp fills my mouth.”

Hiiragi-san says this with a smile, and everyone else nods in satisfaction as well.

It’s been a while since I had barbecue, but it’s fun. Plus, today is sunny, making for an excellent barbecue day.

After drinking juice, we continue grilling meat, skewers, and seafood one after another, enjoying everything to the fullest.

“I’m full.”

I can’t eat anymore.

Saying this contentedly, everyone else also says they’re full. Looking at their expressions, I feel a sense of fulfillment.

“Let’s take it easy for a bit.”

“Yeah.”

I relax in the shade of the tent while gazing at the sea. The sound of the waves is pleasant to hear.

We then rest under the cool and comfortable tent, occasionally playing with beach balls or frisbees on the beach.

As we do this, the sun begins to set. It gets cooler, making it even more pleasant. Then, Ryou-san says, “Hey, let’s start cleaning up.”

“Yeah. Let’s clean up.”

We fold the tent, tidy up the table and chairs, and gather used dishes and trash. After three round trips, we return all borrowed items and throw away the trash.

The area where we had our barbecue is now spotless again.

“Today was really fun.”

Ryou-san says this, and everyone nods with smiles.

“Hey, why don’t we take a photo?”

Naruse-san suggests this.

“That’s a good idea. Let’s do it!”

“Yes.”

“Agreed!”

Finally, we all take a group photo as a memento.

“We should come back again.”

Haruka says this, and everyone agrees in unison.

“Yeah, let’s definitely come back again!”

We make that promise, concluding our enjoyable day at the beach while looking up at the beautiful sunset sky. We leave the beach together and return to the hotel.

Afterward, we enjoy the hot springs and it’s time for bed.

It seems there are only women’s baths available, so I end up using the bath in my room.

Sad…

Due to the small number of men, it must be costly to build and maintain one. Although it’s understandable, since traveling often involves hot springs, it’s a bit disappointing.

Next time, I’ll suggest choosing a place with a men’s bath.

Everyone is probably enjoying the hot spring now. They mentioned there was an open-air bath.

That sounds nice.

Thinking about this, I get out of the bath. After some time, everyone else returns, chatting excitedly about their experiences.

They suddenly made a serious expression, so I wondered what it was about — and it was just about where to sleep.

Being used to such things now, I decide to just watch the outcome.

“Okay, first is rock, rock-paper-scissors… go!”

Everyone’s hands move at once.

It’s a tie.

With so many people, that happens often. This will be a long battle.
