Chapter 5: Gaze

Even just going about my normal school life, I can’t help but notice all sorts of differences from my original world.

One of them was—restrooms.

The men’s restroom that should obviously exist in this world does not exist at all.

It was apparently the same outside of school as well; nothing designed for peeing while standing existed.

When I asked Aoi, he told me that the only restroom men can use is the “multipurpose restroom.”

Well, at least we’re allowed to use something, so it could be worse, but when I first learned about it, I was genuinely baffled.

Of course, that wasn’t the only thing that felt off.

One night, while I was lying alone on my bed, fiddling with my smartphone. With my heart pounding a little, I decided to try searching for something.

The keywords were “men and women erotic video.”

And then—the search results that came up.

“…There aren’t any erotic videos with men in them at alllllllll!!”

It wasn’t as if SafeSearch for under eighteen was turned on. And yet, everything displayed on the screen was nothing but naked women entwined with other women. Not a single result featuring a man showed up at all.

Well, to be honest, being able to admire naked women is something I appreciate. I’m thrilled. Seriously.

But how should I put it… that alone just doesn’t satisfy me.

Even in my original world, I read yuri manga now and then—in fact, I liked it. But normally, romance and sex are things that happen between men and women. And yet in this world, men were excluded from everything.

“…How the hell am I supposed to get off like this!!”

Thanks to the lack of decent material, my right hand began to lose speed.

◇◇◇

Classes began the next day.

The six-period schedule wasn’t all that different from my original world, and at a glance, what we were studying didn’t seem any different either. That said, we’d only just enrolled, so the real differences hadn’t become apparent yet.

“Ughhh…… I’m kinda exhausted.”

Lunch break. I couldn’t take the stifling atmosphere of the classroom anymore, so I grabbed my bento and fled to the rooftop with Aoi. If we raised our voices, we’d draw attention, but up here we could talk without worrying about that. Apparently, hardly anyone ever used the rooftop, which made it the perfect hideout for us.

“Hehe. With that attitude, are you really going to survive from here on out?”

“Can’t be helped, can it? How are you so unfazed by all this, Aoi?”

“I’m used to it already. Or rather, how did you manage up until now, Kazuto-kun?”

A perfectly reasonable question. But there was no way I could say, “Actually, I came from another world.” No one would believe that.

…Still, maybe it wouldn’t hurt to throw out a small jab.

“Hey, you know about ‘uribou,’ right?”

“Yeah, it was in the survey. We don’t need it, though.”

With a cute face like Aoi’s, I could easily imagine it being used in a completely different way, too… No, no, cut it out. Don’t go there.

“Did you know it used to be called something else a long time ago?”

“Huh? Really? What was it?”

“I came across it in some old materials.”

Of course, that was a lie.

There was no way I could tell him the real source, so I just made something up.

“What I’m getting at isn’t the name. It’s what it was modeled after.”

“Eh… what it was modeled after? It’s just a stick, right?”

As expected, Aoi didn’t know. Pure and innocent to the core. He was the one precious friend who’d stuck by me.

I didn’t want to ruin that. That’s exactly why I decided to tell him the truth.

“No, that’s not it. I don’t know what shape they use now, but… originally, it was made to imitate ‘chinchin’—that thing you and I have.”

“……Huh?”

Aoi’s eyes went blank. And then, the next instant—

“Bwah! Hahahahahahahaha!”

Shock and laughter exploded at once. It was hard to believe he’d been so reserved just moments ago, but now Aoi was clutching his stomach as he laughed uncontrollably.

“W-wait a second, Kazuto-kun! Isn’t that just for peeing? There’s no way that’s true! And—what do you mean by ‘chinchin’? That’s such a cute name!”

“…Huh? You don’t know ‘chinchin’? It’s chinchin!”

“I get what you’re pointing at, but that’s just a male organ. There’s no way it has some special nickname!”

“Then tell me! Chinko, chinpo, chinpoko, musuko, kane, ichimotsu, magnum…all gone?!”

“Then what is it called, huh!? You’re telling me chinko, chinpo, chinpoko, junior, the rod, the one, magnum, family jewels! All of them are gone!?”

“Aahaha! Stop it! What are those!? Ahahahaha!”

I never imagined that even the names for chinchin had been wiped out…

In a society where women love each other, marry each other, and have children together, it’s probably beyond Aoi’s imagination that a man would insert himself into a woman at all. But that’s the true history as I know it.

“Geez… Kazuto-kun, you’re really funny. I haven’t laughed this hard in ages. And chinchin… hehehe.”

“You’re way too hung up on chinchin…”

I’d meant it as a serious statement, but to Aoi, it seemed like nothing more than a joke.

Even so, when Aoi smiles like that, he’s really cute. If I dressed him up in girls’ clothes, wouldn’t he just look like a normal girl?

“…..Hmm?”

“What’s wrong?”

It was at that moment that I felt a presence near the gap in the rooftop door.

“I feel like someone was standing near the door just now…”

“No way. Nobody would come anywhere near boys.”

“Maybe a guy from another class?”

“That’s absolutely impossible. Even boys don’t normally interact with each other. I just thought you felt different from the other guys, Kazuto-kun, so I ended up wanting to get close to you.”

Come to think of it, the reason we even met in the first place was because he warned me, “You shouldn’t talk to girls.”

Maybe Aoi really does look out for me.

He’s genuinely kind.

◇◇◇

“Haaa……”

In the shadow of the door leading up to the rooftop, a female student with round glasses and long pink hair swaying gently stared intently at the two boys through the narrow gap in the door.

“This is… this is haaa…!”

Her eyes sparkled behind her glasses as her shoulders trembled, her breathing growing ragged with excitement.

“Just the sight of two boys standing side by side is a miracle…! And on top of that, they’re eating their bento and chatting together… Why does that alone make my chest feel so restless…!?”

In a society where women naturally see other women as romantic interests, feeling drawn to boys made her an oddity. And yet, she couldn’t suppress the ache stirring in her chest.

“As expected… I have no choice but to search for the forbidden books hidden within this academy…! If that’s what it takes to calm these feelings inside me…!”

Steadying her heated breath, the girl cast one last lingering glance through the gap in the door before heading back down the stairs.

All the while, clutching an irresistible impulse deep within her chest—.
