“Ahhh, I’m exhausted!”

I opened the front door and threw myself onto the living room sofa.

It had been one thing after another with barely a moment to breathe.

Now that everything that needed to be done was mostly over, I just wanted to laze around.

“Good work today.”

Hiiragi said that to me.

As I relaxed on the sofa, a growling stomach sound echoed.

I turned to look and saw Haruka holding her stomach.

So it was her stomach that had growled.

“It’s about that time. Shall we have dinner?”

“Yeah, let’s do that.”

“Hey, I want junk food. Can we order delivery?”

Junk food!? I want that too.

Pizza, burgers, fried things floated into my mind.

Just imagining it made my own stomach rumble.

“Then junk food it is. What should we get?”

Hiiragi operated her phone and showed the delivery screen.

Colorful pizzas, juicy hamburgers, crispy fries—everything looked delicious.

“Wow, they all look so good.”

But all the restaurants were unfamiliar. No Mc* burgers, no KF* chicken.

“Do you have anything you like in particular?”

Since I didn’t recognize any of the places, I decided to ask them.

“For me, Burger Donald is a must. Their burgers and fries are crispy and juicy and really good.”

“I think I’d like pizza. I haven’t had it recently, so I’d like some.”

“Pizza, huh, that’s good too.”

Haruka looked conflicted.

Yeah, both sounded great.

“How about we just order both?”

“Ha—! Of course!”

It was like I could see a lightbulb pop over Haruka’s head.

“Can we finish all that…?”

Hiiragi looked uncertain.

“We’ll split one pizza among the three of us, and then each have a burger set. That should be fine, right?”

“I’m a big eater. If we can’t finish it, I’ll take care of it.”

Haruka said confidently, puffing her chest out.

“Then let’s decide the order. First, the pizza…”

“How about this special pizza? It seems like we’d really enjoy it, since it has all kinds of toppings.”

Haruka suggested while peeking over.

Yeah, that seems good.

“Amiya-sama, is that okay?”

“Yeah, please go with that.”

“Understood. Order placed. Next is the burger sets.”

She scrolled to the set menu page.

“I’ll have the chicken burger set. Cola for the drink.”

“I’ll take the teriyaki burger set! And ginger ale.”

“I’ll go with the cheeseburger set. Drink… cola.”

Hiiragi finalized the order.

“Order complete. It’ll take about ten minutes.”

“Thanks, Hiiragi.”

“You’re welcome.”

At that moment, I noticed Haruka grinning.

“What?”

“No, nothing.”

No, there was definitely something. Her smile was too obvious.

————Ten minutes later.

We waited on the sofa while chatting. Then the doorbell rang.

“It’s here! Looks like they arrived at the same time.”

Haruka checked the intercom.

“We’ll go receive it. Please wait here.”

“Can I go too?”

“No. Delivery is one of the most dangerous situations for a man.”

She didn’t leave room for argument. The two of them went together.

If I open the door carelessly, something might happen, I guess…

While I was thinking about nonsensical things, they returned.

“We’re back.”

“Oh, thanks.”

Haruka looked absolutely delighted.

She must’ve really been looking forward to this.

“I’ll set everything out.”

“I’ll help.”

We placed the pizza in the center and each burger set in front of us.

Hand wipes and straws too.

“Alright, everything’s here. Let’s eat!”

My voice naturally lifted.

“Let’s eat!”

Haruka responded brightly.

Hiiragi smiled and joined in.

I started with the pizza. The special pizza had plenty of tomato sauce, and the cheese and toppings spread flavor across my mouth.

“Wow, this is great. Definitely special.”

“Really? Then I want some too.”

Haruka grabbed a slice and took a bite.

“Mmm—! So good!”

Both hands pressed against her cheeks, her face melting.

“It is very delicious.”

Hiiragi also enjoyed hers calmly.

Then the cola washed it down perfectly.

“Hey, can I have a bite of your burger?”

Haruka leaned in with a look that said “just one bite.”

“Sure.”

Well, it was Haruka. She wouldn’t do anything weird.

I bit into my chicken burger—crispy coating, juicy meat, spicy-sweet sauce.

“This one’s good too!”

Haruka leaned in eagerly. I held the burger toward her.

And she took a bite—right from where I bit.

…She did it.

“Hehe, that was an indirect kiss.”

Her tone was casual, but both her ears were red.

You think you can embarrass me with that?

“Haruka, if you wanted to do that, you should’ve just asked. Also, your ears are red.”

She froze for a moment, then awkwardly touched her ears, then forced a reply.

“M-me? Embarrassed? Don’t be ridiculous! I’m a guard officer, I have resistance to this kind of thing!”

Her eyes were darting.

“Here, Hiiragi! This is delicious, right!?”

“Yes.”

She was desperately changing the subject.

Meanwhile, Hiiragi ate quietly but happily, cheeks puffed slightly like a hamster.

Cute.

The pizza and burgers steadily disappeared.

“Phew… I’m full.”

Yeah. I may have eaten too much.

“Shall we clean up?”

After a short rest, we cleaned up the table and wiped it down.

“Hey, what should we do next? Want to watch a movie?”

“Sounds good.”

“I agree. Is there anything recommended?”

Haruka showed her movie list.

“How about this action one? It’s well-reviewed.”

“Let’s watch that.”

We played the movie on the big TV and relaxed together.

————Two hours later.

The movie ended, and the time felt just right.

Haruka was getting sleepy. Hiiragi was wide awake.

“Fwaa… that was good.”

“Yeah.”

“Yes.”

They told me goodnight and each returned to their rooms.

Eating together like this, talking and relaxing—it was nice.

I felt satisfied.

Maybe we could go somewhere tomorrow.
